Frank Julius smiled coldly as he lifted his foot and kicked The Hang Man in the side of his face. As he lay dazed, Frank took his foot and wiped the spit across the Hang Man’s face.

Frank waited for the Hang Man’s eyes to find him once they had cleared from the kick to the face.

When their eyes met, Frank Julius swung the aluminum baseball bat with all his strength against the head of the Hang Man.

As if on cue, the rest of the crew joined in on the other two men. The beatings continued for over fifteen minutes—long after the three bound men were dead.

Chapter Twelve

The Lady Trinity was a one hundred thirty foot long luxury Yacht owned by Hugh Griffins. Before winning a seat in the United States Senate, Hugh Griffins had made his many millions in real estate and trading in the stock markets, so he was a self-made man who had made his first million at twenty four years old. Now at sixty two years old, he was one of the wealthiest black men in America. He was not only wealthy financially, but also a powerful man in the world of politics. As a senior Senator from Florida, he was the Chairman of the very powerful Senate’s Judiciary Committee. He had powerful friends and they traded in money and in influence.

The crew of The Lady Trinity consisted of seven members. The yacht had only one captain, who had held the position for the past eight years and was loyal to the senator, who paid him extremely well. This weekend the Yacht carried six powerful friends of the senator as they cruised off the coastal waters of the Grand Bahamas on a fishing trip that also included some deep sea diving, sun bathing, and most importantly, business.

Senator Griffins had just won another term in office, and of the many issues on his agenda, one of the most important was to try to get Frank Julius a new trial on his appeal before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta Georgia.

Senator Griffins often thought back over the many years since he had befriended the gangster, Frank Julius. Many years ago he had been married to a very beautiful woman, his beloved Janet. They’d had only one child in their long marriage, a daughter who they had named Trinity.

As he stood on his boat’s deck alone, he thought back to that fateful day as if it was only yesterday, something happened that would surely change the course of his life forever. He had read the police reports in detail, and from them, he had gotten the full story. His daughter, Trinity, was on her way home from shopping one night when four men had followed her from the mall to the parking lot. The men had taken her forcefully to an abandoned apartment building used by drug dealers and there they had robbed her and brutally taken turns sexually assaulting her for two full days. When they had tired of her, they had given her an overdose of heroin to kill her.
